Parliament of the World's Religions

The 1893 Parliament of the World’s Religions is the landmark beginning of the modern interfaith movement. Today’s Parliament convenings are the world’s largest and most inclusive interfaith gathering, with an average attendance of 8,000 participants. I was honored to speak at the 2021 Parliament, with a presentation entitled "Sacred Space, Sacred Time, Sacred Things: Meeting the Holy in Another Dimension." I am particularly excited to attend the 2023 Parliament in Chicago, the city of the Parliament's birth, to present "Healing Religions' Harms."

Worship
Worship Sundays at 10 AM Pacific Time in our Riverside church location. Also available Sunday afternoons on our YouTube channel.
Pastoral Services
As a pastor I am asked to do all kinds of things. Sometimes even the animals need attention! If I can help, please let me know.
Lifelong Learning
Throughout the year, I offer a variety of classes to help people grow in faith and wisdom. We explore ancient biblical texts to modern spirituality. Contact the church office for more information on how to join us.
Special Events
We have a variety of activities at the church every month. We share meals, enjoy fun and laughter, and journey together in faith. These are open to all people and they are safe places to explore and share. Contact the church office for more information on how to join us or to get on our email list."

Beckoned
In Beckoned, I shared my sometimes difficult lifelong spiritual journey. I hope the book inspires the reader to ask: "How am I beckoned? What do I understand about God, myself, and the church? Am I willing to grow even deeper?"

Presentations
I am available to speak over Zoom and in person on my book, spiritual practices, and interfaith topics. I have previous experience speaking in mosques, synagogues, and Buddhist temples, either with the clergy or laity there, or individually. I have shared with small and large groups at churches and schools. Get in touch and I'll help however I can.

About

Rev. Stephanie Lape is a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She holds a Master of Arts degree in Transpersonal Psychology (the psychology of religious experience) from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, and a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary. A long-time professor of comparative religions and former campus minister, she now serves as pastor at Eden Lutheran Church in Riverside, California.

Stephanie speaks and teaches on matters of spiritual and psychological development, biblical studies, the enneagram personality tool, and comparative religions. She is an active advocate for interfaith and ecumenical studies. She has taught classes on major religious movements in churches, schools, and city programs, while also leading tours and guest speaking at mosques, synagogues, and temples. Stephanie is honored to have been a speaker at the 2021 and 2023 Parliament of the World's Religions.

She also loves to write. Stephanie is a contributing author for Living Lutheran Magazine and author of Beckoned: Hearing God's Call to Deeper Faith, which is both a travelogue of her own winding spiritual journey, as well as a guide to help people discover their own path. She lives with her husband and two children in Southern California.
